In case you wanted something to top the story of McCain pushing a woman in a wheelchair, here it is. I've already posted a couple of times on the church Palin grew up in. (You can read those here and here). Apparently, there's a lot more fun stuff to be revealed. Her church is apparently part of the "Third Wave." The name alone should tip you off that this isn't your mother's church. In fact, it is controversial because of its ties to the "Latter Rain Movement." (Remember when we just had to deal with a preacher shouting about "chickens coming home to roost?")
According to the Huffington Post:
The Third Wave is a revival of the theology of the Latter Rain tent revivals of the 1950s and 1960s led by William Branham and others. It is based on the idea that in the end times there will be an outpouring of supernatural powers on a group of Christians that will take authority over the existing church and the world. The believing Christians of the world will be reorganized under the Fivefold Ministry and the church restructured under the authority of Prophets and Apostles and others anointed by God. The young generation will form "Joel's Army" to rise up and battle evil and retake the earth for God.
I've mentioned how the pastor at Palin's church stated Alaska was a refuge state for people to flee to during the "Last Days." This was said while Palin stood next to him, without any outcry of, "What are you crazy?" Therefore, we know the all important fact that she was in the pews when this statement was made. I guess it's time for Palin to make a moving speech on the separation of church and state.
