One Brave Little Boy

In a state where I’d have to imagine supporting gay rights doesn’t exactly make you the most popular kid in school, one brave little ten year old boy is exercising his first amendment rights by sitting down during the pledge of allegiance. He says he doesn’t think he should say the pledge until there really is liberty and justice for all. He apparently was actually reading the words of the pledge and thought that it was odd that we pledge liberty and justice for all and then deny it to large segments of our society.

At least one columnist is supporting him, but I wonder how much hate mail the poor kid is getting? This kid’s father sounds like a level headed good hearted person. I hope there are lots in the community who rally around him.
