As SNL’s Obama says, “I won [the Nobel Peace Prize] for not being George Bush.” As good a reason as any.
SNL: President Obama Fails with Do Nothing Congress
Saturday Night Live, while taking a few liberties with some facts according to CNN, nails Obama for failing to drag the Congress into line and accomplish some of the things he promised to achieve as President. While it’s obvious that some initiatives will take awhile to complete and work on, this is a very funny look at a President who seems unable to get a Do Nothing Congress to act. The Republicans, and Bob Dole in particular, knew how to push their President’s agenda through Congress. Obviously, when George W Bush was in his second term he ran into some resistance in trying to get legislation passed given his lame duck, unpopular status. However, anything he wanted before that was gold. When it comes to Obama and the Congressional Dems, Pelosi has spent more time declaring her independence than she has publicly supporting the President. That is a direct reflection on either her stupidity or his lack of leadership skills. I’m going to say it’s a little bit of both.
